Overview

Surgical Interest Registered Veterinary Nurse - Highcroft Whitchurch, Bristol - Salary up to £34,000 depending on experience

We have an exciting opportunity available for a Registered Veterinary Nurse with a specific interest in surgery to join Highcroft Veterinary Group and work in the first opinion side within our large veterinary hospital. Within this role you will work in a busy, modern clinic that has invested in high tech equipment, such as CT equipment, to provide you with the best possible working environment.

This is a full time position where you will be required to work 40 hours per week across 4 days and 1 in 8 weekends. We would also consider part time applications, just let us know what works for you.

You will need to be RCVS registered and have a strong track record in the delivery of exceptional animal care.

Main duties
  • Completing anaesthesia on a range of cert holder's procedures.
  • Coordinate the day and liaise with other internal departments.
  • Preparing medications and equipment.
  • Performing schedule 3 procedures.
  • Coordinating hospital stays.
  • Completing general administrative duties such as consent forms and patient paperwork.
  • Covering wards, medicine, and general surgery specialties when required.
Key Requirements
  • 2+ years qualified.
  • A background or strong interest in progressing in surgery - support can be provided where necessary.
  • Knowledge of ventilators and multi-parameters.
  • Further experience in advanced soft tissue or orthopaedics would be desirable but not essential.
