Acorn Education & Care are recruiting Children’s Care Workers to join our teams within the Staffordshire area. Your empathy and warmth will enable you to support vulnerable children aged 7-18 with social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH). This means that the Children we care for may have experienced challenging or traumatic upbringings and may have difficulties with anxiety, mental health or in some cases self-harm.

There are a total of 4 residential homes in the Staffordshire region, based in Stone, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Stoke-on-Trent and Stretton, and are all with in commuting distance from Stafford, Newcastle-under-Lyme and surrounding towns and villages.

Who we are looking for:

  • People with a big heart and passion to make a difference to the residents’ lives
  • Understanding that the people we care for can be challenging
  • Be patient, resilient and calming
  • Become the “go to” person for help, support and guidance with their everyday needs
  • Willingness to learn not only about the people we support, but the ins and outs of Children’s Residential Care, by working towards a funded qualification in Level 4 Apprenticeship for Children Young People and Families Practitioner (if you do not currently hold this or equivalent)
