A local government authority in the UK is seeking candidates for fixed-term roles within their Streetpride Service. Responsibilities include street cleansing and maintenance of parks and open spaces. Applicants should have a professional attitude, physical fitness, and a Category B driving licence. The Streetpride Service is Coventry City Council's Street Cleansing and Grounds Maintenance Service. It has a responsibility and statutory duty to keep the City Clean, Green and attractive for all.
The service operates out of three strategically located sites citywide and provides a cleansing service seven days a week, 52 weeks a year.
We currently clean 10,000 miles of road network each year and empty over 3,000 street litter bins each week.
The service is also responsible for delivering the Grounds Maintenance works across all our Parks and Open Spaces, including our 5 Green Flag Parks and cuts approximately 6 million square metres of grass every 20 working days. That is the equivalent of cutting one thousand football pitches.

As part of a team, you will support the maintenance and improvement of streets, neighbourhoods, parks, and open spaces by undertaking a range of street cleansing and grounds maintenance activities and ensuring all work is carried out by the appropriate Safe Systems of Work.
These are key roles within our Streetpride Service, and you will provide support to the community and public to improve the way our City looks and feels by working with team members and partners to create a greater feeling of security and confidence among residents, assist in maintaining a clean and safer community, and signpost accordingly.

We are looking to recruit fixed-term roles for 12 months.
