A busy country pub in the Northamptonshire countryside is hiring a Sous Chef

  • Peak summer food sales up to £50k per week
  • Big outdoor space for high-volume service
  • Outdoor BBQ offer during the summer months
  • Set in a former stationmaster’s house with views over the lake and countryside
The role
  • You will support the Head Chef and lead the kitchen day to day.
  • Run service at pace, inside and outside
  • Cook with fresh produce and bring ideas to the menu
  • Drive consistency, quality, and speed during peak trade
  • Manage prep, ordering, stock, and wastage
  • Lead, train, and develop junior chefs
  • Keep standards tight on food safety and cleanliness
What you need
Sous Chef experience in a fresh-food kitchen
  • Confidence running busy services and outdoor trade
  • Strong people skills
  • Calm, approachable leadership
  • Clear focus on coaching juniors and building a team culture
  • Pay and contract
    • Salary: £36,000 + tronc (around £3-4,000 per year)
    • Salary or Hourly options available
    • Contracted hours: 48 per week
