What You Will Do
  • Work with mentally disordered offenders, completing comprehensive assessments and developing effective, person-centred care plans.
  • Participate in the AMHP rota, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver statutory mental health services.
  • Advocate for adults with complex needs, ensuring their voices are central to all assessment and decision-making processes.
  • Provide specialist advice, guidance, and support to individuals navigating the criminal justice system.
  • Promote recovery, rehabilitation, and social inclusion, supporting service users to reintegrate into the community where possible.
  • Work in partnership with health, police, probation, and other agencies to ensure coordinated and effective interventions.
  • Maintain high-quality, accurate, and timely case records in line with statutory and local authority requirements.
Requirements
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work.
  • Registered with Social Work England.
  • Qualified and warranted AMHP.
  • Experience working with forensic or complex mental health service users.
  • Strong working knowledge of:
    • Mental Health Act
    • Mental Capacity Act
    • Care Act
  • Ability to work confidently in high-risk, complex, and multidisciplinary environments.
