Job summary

A leading healthcare provider in the UK is seeking a Senior Therapy Assistant to support therapy teams. The role requires a foundation degree or equivalent and substantial experience within relevant therapy assistant roles. Key responsibilities include working under pressure and excellent communication skills with both colleagues and service users. Familiarity with NHS discharge processes is desirable. This role is not eligible for a Skilled Worker Visa.

Qualifications

• Experience as a therapy assistant, Occupational Therapy assistant, or Physiotherapy assistant in the UK.
• Ability to articulate an understanding of the Senior Therapy Assistant role.

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential criteria

• Foundation degree / level 5 equivalent qualification in relevant topic
• Valid driving licence, or means or travelling independently in the community

Desirable criteria

• Evidence of achievement of relevant work-based training modules i.e. moving and handling, dementia awareness, food hygiene

EXPERIENCE

Essential criteria

• Previous/current experience of a working in a UK-based therapy assistant / Occupational Therapy assistant / Physiotherapy assistant role with demonstrable evidence of completion of competencies
• Evidence of working within a multidisciplinary team

Desirable criteria

• Demonstrable knowledge of NHS discharge processes

Skills, knowledge and ability

Essential criteria

• Demonstrates a good basic understanding of the Senior Therapy Assistant role being applied for and able to articulate this in the application
• Ability to work under pressure
• Good communication skills both with colleagues and service users

Desirable criteria

• Knowledge of common vascular and cardiology conditions
• Basic computer and electronic record keeping skills
