Job description
Overview

We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic Band 7 Physiotherapist to join our Pelvic Health team at MFT in leading the service across North Manchester General Hospital and St Mary’s Hospital. There may also be the occasional requirement to cover clinics at the Wythenshawe or Trafford hospital sites in Manchester. Previous experience of assessing and treating patients with pelvic floor dysfunction is essential. Experience of working with male patients would be desirable. The post holder will join a proactive and supportive Pelvic Health team which covers the hospital sites covered by MFT.

Responsibilities
  • Work autonomously within Trust policy and professional practice and maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records.
  • Be responsible for your own clinical caseload in Pelvic Health and communicate effectively with the Physiotherapy team and the wider MDT across MFT.
  • Be responsible for the clinical caseload in the Pelvic Health Physiotherapy service at North Manchester General Hospital and St. Mary’s Hospital.
  • Perform specialist assessment and treatment of patients and determine a clinical diagnosis, develop, implement, evaluate and modify individualised treatment programmes, ensuring appropriate pathways of care and communication via liaison and referral to other agencies as required. The patient will present with acute or chronic conditions, some of which may be complex.
  • Provide the senior staff/managers with information to assist the planning and development of the service, to achieve the departmental objectives.
  • Promote quality improvement within the pelvic health service and be actively involved in the quality assurance programme with team leads from other therapy specialists.
  • Monitor and actively manage waiting lists to ensure effective utilisation and optimal patient care with the support of your manager.
