A leading space analytics company in Glasgow is seeking a Space Operations Software Engineer to improve satellite fleet efficiency. The ideal candidate has strong Python skills, experience in web backend development, and familiarity with data backends. At Spire, the Space Operations Software team is responsible for preparing for growth by using software to automate mission management, improve telemetry monitoring, monitor ground station activity, and provide tools to analyze constellation performance.
As a Space Operations Software Engineer, you will work with a small team in an agile environment on systems and tools that improve the efficiency of the satellite fleet. Some specific areas include:
Candidates should have experience implementing systems using Python, including integrating with a diverse set of data stores and cloud services. They will need to interface with the satellite operations and ground station teams to translate user needs into system requirements and collaborate to iterate on the resultant projects.
Spire operates a hybrid work model, and this position requires a minimum of three days per week in the office.
Access to US export-controlled software and/or technology may be required for this role. If needed, Spire will arrange the necessary licenses.
