Senior Social Media Manager

Salary: £41,000 per annum.

Location: Hybrid. (commute to London is preferred due to regular meetings and events in London).

Contract: Permanent, 35 hours per week.

A bit about the role

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Social Media Manager to lead and shape the organisation’s organic social media strategy to engage and inspire existing and potential supporters with our work. This role is vital to the organisation, collaborating with key stakeholders across the organisation to bring our brand and our services to life online.

This is an exciting time to join Action for Children as we look to diversify our social media channel strategy, set a new data-driven approach to content governance, and work on developing and furthering influencer marketing.

How you'll help to create brighter futures
  • Channel management and content creation: manage our current social media channels (Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram) and lead on creating social-first content with key stakeholders across the charity to further increase income, reach and engagement.
  • Strategic oversight: Owning an evolving multiyear social media strategy, with a key focus on channel diversification, regionalisation and influencer marketing.
  • Supporter engagement: develop and nurture engagement with current and future online supporters (community management) and maintain a positive brand sentiment online.
  • Stakeholder management: contribute to cross-functional strategy discussions with key product and campaign owners across the organisation as the organic social media expert.
  • Reporting: be responsible for making data-driven decisions using key analytics tools to optimise our online presence.
  • Line management: be responsible for nurturing and developing the social media team to achieve the team and the organisational objectives utilising Action for Children’s policies and procedures.

  • Proven experience in strategic social media leadership and innovation.
  • Proven experience in managing high profile campaigns.
  • Advanced skills in creating compelling, audience-focused content across diverse formats and channels, with a specific focus on short-form video.
  • Advanced analytics and performance measurement capabilities, especially with Google Analytics and social media management tools.
  • Established stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing influencer partnerships to amplify brand reach, engagement, and income.
  • Experience in leading lead channel diversification and expansion initiatives.
  • Experience in Line Management.
  • Manage a delegated budget.
