Overview

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a leading residential developer in their search for a Senior Town Planner to join their Worcester-based team. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a key role within a dynamic planning function and contribute to the delivery of high-quality residential developments across the region.

The Role

As a Senior Town Planner, you will be responsible for managing and delivering planning applications, appeals, and local plan representations across a diverse portfolio of residential schemes. Working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, you will play an integral role in driving forward new opportunities and securing planning permissions.

  • Preparing, submitting, and managing planning applications for residential developments.
  • Supporting land acquisition strategies through planning appraisals.
  • Representing the business at planning committees, hearings, and public consultations.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with local planning authorities, stakeholders, and consultants.
  • Keeping up to date with planning policy and legislative changes to support business objectives.
About You

We are seeking a highly motivated planning professional with:

  • MRTPI Chartered status (or working towards).
  • A minimum of 3-5 years’ post-qualification experience in town planning, ideally gained within a residential developer, consultancy, or local authority.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • A passion for delivering successful housing schemes and adding real value through the planning process.
