Job summary

A leading NHS Trust in the UK seeks a Consultant in Care of the Elderly to join a dedicated team focused on delivering high-quality clinical care for the elderly population. The successful candidate will be integral in conducting comprehensive assessments and providing leadership within multidisciplinary teams. With support for personal development and engagement in various specialties, this role is ideal for those committed to enhancing care for elderly patients. The position offers 10 PAs, with additional PAs available.

Qualifications

• Must have full registration with the GMC and a Licence to Practise.
• Entry on the GMC Specialist Register in Geriatric and General Internal Medicine.
• Experience and interest in teaching both junior medical and non-medical staff.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive geriatric assessments of frail elderly patients.
• Participate in twice-weekly MDT meetings for the virtual frailty ward.
• Provide clinical leadership and oversight of the assessment process.

Skills

Leadership within multidisciplinary teams

Experience in clinical audit

Education

MBBS or equivalent

MRCP or equivalent

Full registration with the GMC
