Senior Clinical Fellow in Anaesthetics

Main duties of the job

The duties of the post meet the requirements of the ST3+ Equivalent posts as detailed by the Royal College of Anaesthetists. The 2021 RCOA Anaesthetics curriculum will be followed. It will include pre-, peri- and post-operative management of surgical patients, assisting with care of the patients on the ICU, and provision of assistance with resuscitation calls and acute pain queries. Travel to other sites within the Trust will have to be anticipated to allow for full teaching experience. A logbook of the clinical cases undertaken should be recorded and there is an option to complete a reflective learning portfolio of teaching activities. Annual appraisal is conducted locally through the Trust appraisal and revalidation system. The post is for 48 hours per week. Other responsibilities include: Communication: This will include responsibility for and arrangement of (i) communication and liaison with all other medical and service departments within the hospital (ii) communication with other hospitals.
