Senior Infrastructure Engineer
Location: Gloucestershire
Salary: £40,000–£47,500, depending on experience

The Opportunity

An established consultancy is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join their growing team in Cheltenham. This role offers the chance to deliver high-quality flood risk and drainage strategies, along with detailed highways and infrastructure designs, supporting a wide range of planning and development projects. This is a flexible and dynamic environment with hybrid working, ongoing training, and a focus on individual development.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Preparing highways design drawings, including preliminary layouts, S278 and S38 schemes, in line with national standards and local authority guidance
  • Developing drainage strategies to support planning applications, incorporating SuDS principles
  • Producing Flood Risk Assessments for planning support
  • Undertaking detailed post-planning drainage and highways designs to technical approval and construction
  • Liaising with stakeholders, clients, and project teams to ensure smooth project delivery
  • Conducting site visits as required
  • Supporting business development activities and contributing to team culture
  • Assisting in the mentoring and development of junior staff

What You’ll Need

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline (BEng/MEng or equivalent)
  • At least 3 years’ post-graduate experience in infrastructure or civil engineering
  • Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality engineering outputs
  • Strong time management skills, able to prioritise and deliver multiple projects to deadlines
  • Commercial understanding of the consultancy environment, including budget and time considerations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ambition to be part of a motivated, forward-thinking team
