Job description
Overview

Senior CWP/EMHP role on a 12 month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave within the mental health support team. The post holder will work within the MHST and contribute to developing the Children\'s Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner / Educational Mental Health Practitioner role, providing clinical and caseload supervision and delivering high-quality, brief, outcome-focused, evidence-based interventions for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health difficulties. The post holder will have opportunities for continuing professional development and will link with the university training programme for current and future CWPs/EMHPs.

Main duties include delivering low intensity cognitive behaviour therapy (LICBT) to promote recovery and well-being, working compassionately with children, young people and their carers, collaborating within CAMHS and with local partners, and being professionally accountable for the care of children and young people in homes and the community. The role includes promoting social inclusion, providing leadership and supervision within the team, supporting quality improvement activities, and delivering clinical and caseload management supervision.

Person Specification

Qualifications/Experience — Essential

  • British Psychological Society (BPS) Accredited or Higher Education England (HEE) Approved academic course in line with the CYP IAPT Low Intensity National Programme and qualification as a Children\'s Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP).
  • Professional registration as a CWP with an appropriate regulatory body (e.g. BPS or BABCP).
  • Completed or currently undertaking the CWP/EMHP supervisor (PG Certificate or CPD) or Senior Wellbeing Practitioner training, enabling supervision of Trainee and Qualified CWPs as per registration requirements.
  • Substantial evidence of Continuing Professional Development as a CWP.

Other Requirements — Essential

  • Ability to travel independently in accordance with Trust policies and service needs.

Knowledge — Essential

  • Significant post-qualification experience working with young people experiencing emotional distress and mental health challenges.
  • Experience delivering low intensity CBT interventions with children and young people.
  • Experience providing clinical and caseload management supervision.
