Quest Search and Selection is currently looking for an entrepreneurial Senior Buying Manager to lead the Pet product assortment. Products will include Pet Food & Treats (Dry and wet food), Accessories & Equipment (Collars and leashes), Feeding & Watering Supplies (Storage container and water bowls) etc. The business is for a retail e-commerce platform with operations in the UK & Europe, growing their FMCG category team. Their advanced technology offers fast and reliable delivery services, within hours or by the next day. With 1st class, supply chain at its core & cutting-edge digital solutions, this business is renowned for its innovation and excellence, all within a start-up culture.

The roles & responsibilities

The roles & responsibilities of this Senior Buying Manager Pets role:

  • Business development efforts with brands and suppliers, successfully onboarding market-leading partners.
  • Conducted in-depth analysis of category metrics to identify sourcing gaps and define strategies for supplier and performance improvement.
  • Led purchasing and sales initiatives for the Pet product category, driving performance across key KPIs.
  • Maintained optimal inventory levels through proactive stock monitoring and replenishment planning.
  • Developed and implemented end-to-end sales strategies, including pricing models and promotional campaigns to drive revenue growth.
  • Identified and secured new supplier partnerships, managed ongoing relationships, negotiated commercial terms and ensured data accuracy.
  • Curated product selections aligned with consumer trends, seasonal demand, and usage occasions to enhance category relevance.
The qualifications

The qualifications of this Senior Buying Manager Pets Role:

  • Have 4 -7 + year experience within buying / category management, ideally operating at a senior or manager level.
  • That you must have must current or past experience within the Pet category & have strong supplier relationships.
  • You must come from a retail, eCommerce, Marketplace or Supplier background with strong knowledge of the UK market within this category.
  • Strong customer understanding backed by deep market insight and a solid track record in strategic purchasing.
  • Well-established network of supplier relationships across the Pet industry.
  • Highly analytical with strong attention to data accuracy and a structured, logical approach to problem-solving.
  • Results-driven, innovative, and collaborative, with a strong commitment to contributing meaningfully to business objectives.
