The Opportunity

We have partnered with a specialist lender in their search for a Senior Bridging Underwriter. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-performing underwriting team where you’ll take ownership of cases from initial application through to completion, playing a key role in delivering fast and commercial lending decisions.

If you thrive in a fast-paced lending environment and enjoy working closely with brokers, solicitors, valuers, and internal stakeholders, this role offers both variety and progression.

What You’ll Do

As a Senior Underwriter, you’ll be working on high value and complex cases whilst also taking a lead role in guiding the team and working closely with senior management and business development on wider business strategy and process improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Managing the full lending process from application to drawdown
  • Managing introductions from a variety of channels
  • Assessing bridging loan applications and analysing creditworthiness of complex cases with values from £20m
  • Preparing detailed credit proposals for Credit Committee
  • Reviewing valuation reports and due diligence documentation
  • Drafting offer documents and ensuring conditions are satisfied pre-completion
  • Liaising with brokers, solicitors, valuers, surveyors, other lenders and internal teams to progress cases
  • Maintaining accurate CRM records and producing reports when required
  • Managing expectations professionally and providing updates to all stakeholders
  • Supporting continuous improvement across underwriting processes and playing a key role in process improvement initiatives
What You’ll Bring
  • Proven track record within bridging underwriter and structured lending
  • Deep knowledge of structuring deals
  • Mandate holder (Pref £5m+)
  • Strong understanding of property-based lending, B2B underwriting and risk assessment
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management, experience working with C level
  • Ability to manage a busy caseload while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
  • Analytical mindset with the confidence to make informed decisions
  • A proactive, problem-solving mentality and a commitment to great customer outcomes
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
  • Experience leading or mentoring junior members of the team
