Responsibilities
- Lead the evaluation of radiation protection impacts on the Rolls‑Royce SMR power station and the integrated Environment, Safety, Security and Safeguards (E3S) Case, ensuring ALARP principles are demonstrated.
- Provide direct support to Engineering teams, offering awareness and justification for protection against radiation hazards.
- Engage with regulatory authorities to support licensing activities in defined countries.
- Drive innovation by examining novel techniques for radiological safety and design.
- Lead a small team of radiation protection specialists and maintain processes to ensure compliance and best practice.
Qualifications
- Expertise in radiation protection and safety case development.
- Strong understanding of Ionising Radiations Regulations 2017 and associated guidance.
- Experience with nuclear power station operations and stakeholder engagement.
- Excellent communication skills for internal and external representation.
- Radiation Protection Adviser certification (or working towards), degree in a scientific/engineering discipline (or equivalent experience), and membership of a relevant professional institute.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: £48,000 – £63,000
- Benefit Allowance: £2,200
- Bonus Opportunity: 12.5%
