Job description

How would you like to get paid for five days, but only work four?

At Outcomes First Group, we believe in better work/life balance — and we’re putting wellbeing first.

That’s why we’re proud to be part of a 4-Day Working Week (4DWW) trial, where you can work one day less each week (or equivalent hours), while still receiving your full‑time pay.

Many of our schools have already introduced the 4DWW — and others are preparing to roll it out as soon as they reach full staffing. So whether it’s already in place or just around the corner, now’s the perfect time to join #teamOFG.

Job Title: SEN Tutor (Unqualified Teacher)

Location: Copper Fields School, Gunnislake, PL18 9EH

Salary: Up to £27,300 per annum depending on experience (not pro rata)

Hours: 40.5 hours per week | Monday 8:30am-5:00pm | Tuesday to Friday 8:30am-4:30pm

Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only

Start: January 2026

UK applicants only. This role does not offer sponsorship.

We’re seeking a motivated SEN Tutor who is ready to inspire, support and empower students to reach their full potential. This hands‑on role involves leading a class, delivering tailored learning, and making a meaningful impact on both the academic and personal development of pupils with special educational needs.

About the Role

As an SEN Tutor, you will take ownership of a class, working closely with school leadership to ensure every student has the opportunity to thrive. You’ll bring lessons to life, re‑engage learners who may have struggled in traditional settings, and help them achieve meaningful academic progress and qualifications. You’ll also play a key role in supporting students’ social and emotional development, building confidence and independence along the way.

Key Responsibilities / Main Duties
  • Lead and take ownership of a class, delivering education in line with the school curriculum while receiving guidance and support from leadership.
  • Inspire and re‑engage students through personalised, hands‑on teaching that drives meaningful academic progress.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support assessments, help students access qualifications, and maintain accurate records of progress.
  • Apply school marking, feedback, and assessment policies to track and celebrate student achievements.
  • Support students’ social and emotional development, building confidence, resilience, and independence.
  • Promote safeguarding by completing training and reporting any concerns through the correct channels.
  • Work closely with teaching staff to ensure consistency, quality, and continuous improvement across the school.
Who We’re Looking For

This role would suit a suitably experienced and skilled teaching assistant wanting to develop their skills further. A teaching qualification is not a requirement for this role — what matters most is passion, dedication, and the ability to make learning engaging and accessible for every student.
