Job description
Overview

The Security Compliance Coordinator is responsible for monitoring security compliance and performance across the hospital to ensure full compliance with security requirements. This includes working alongside security liaison staff and security managers to support managers across hospital services in achieving the necessary security standards. The post holder is also responsible for the operational delivery of security training, including day-to-day management of a dedicated security trainer. Contribution towards internal and external national security audits is a key element of the role. The post will support the department plan and devise a compliance and training strategy to maintain patient, staff and public safety.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor hospital compliance with security requirements as detailed within the Safety & Security Directions for High Security Psychiatric Services 2019, the High Security Services Clinical Security Framework, and Trust Policies and Procedures.
  • Lead and manage the delivery of security training, including the day-to-day management of a dedicated security trainer.
  • Support clinical security liaison nurses to deliver clinical security input directly to teams and services.
  • Assist security managers with compliance monitoring and the recording of non-clinical activity, such as physical security requirements and security systems.
  • Contribute to internal and external national security audits as part of the role.
  • Develop and implement a compliance and training strategy in collaboration with the department.
Qualifications and experience
  • Preferably experience of working in a forensic healthcare setting, but candidates must have experience of secure environments to ensure high-quality service and adherence to national standards identified in the High Secure Psychiatric Directions (2019) and Guidance.

The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced); this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment. You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.
