Join Our Team as a Mental Health Support Worker in SEN Schools Across Northamptonshire!

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Do you want to make a real difference in the lives of those facing emotional, behavioural, or mental health challenges? Tradewind Recruitment is looking for dedicated Mental Health Support Workers to work in SEN schools throughout Northamptonshire.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support students who need help the most - those with complex needs, autism, ADHD, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health), and other learning difficulties. Your role will be vital in promoting a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment where all learners can thrive.

Responsibilities
  • Working 1:1 or in small groups with pupils who require emotional and behavioural support.
  • Assisting the class teacher and SENCO in implementing individualised education plans (IEPs).
  • Supporting students with personal development, emotional regulation, and social skills.
  • Using de-escalation strategies and therapeutic approaches to manage challenging behaviours.
  • Helping pupils develop resilience, confidence, and positive coping strategies.
Qualifications and What We're Looking For
  • Experience working with children or young adults with additional needs or mental health difficulties.
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic nature.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Relevant training (Team Teach, MAPA, Trauma-Informed Practice, etc.) is desirable but not essential.
  • A genuine desire to support young people to achieve their full potential.
