Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Council's risk management strategy and embed best practice across all departments
• Manage the full insurance portfolio, including claims handling and renewals
• Provide expert advice on strategic and operational risk, supporting governance and resilience
• Maintain the Strategic Risk Register and ensure alignment with corporate priorities
• Deliver training and promote a strong risk-aware culture
• Liaise with senior managers, committees, and external partners on risk and insurance matters
