Role details

Role: Senior Backend Developer

Location: Remote / Leeds HQ 2 days per month

Salary: £70,000 - £90,000 DOE

Benefits: 4-day work week, 23 days annual leave + bank holidays, health insurance, retail & leisure perks, electric car scheme. Remote-friendly with our office dog, Roxy.

What you’ll be doing

• Design and develop scalable Python applications powering our AI-driven marketing platform.
• Architect robust systems and guide the technical roadmap; collaborate cross-functionally to turn strategy into real solutions.
• Champion engineering excellence, embed best practices, and drive innovation through clean code and continuous improvement.
• Partner with CTO, senior leadership, and cross-functional teams to bring bold ideas to life and scale the platform.
• Take ownership of key technical decisions and mentor a team of developers.

What you’ll Bring

• Strong experience with Python and backend API development
• Automated testing and build pipelines with containers and automated quality checks
• Experience with modern development practices and environments
• API development with Falcon framework
• Experience in a pragmatic startup environment and ability to manage ambiguity
• Good understanding of authentication and authorization (NextAuth/JWT)
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform
• Understanding of PostgreSQL and data modelling
• Exposure to BigQuery is beneficial
• Exposure to Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform
