Day-to-Day Duties
  • Nurse consults.
  • Helping the vets in theatre with anaesthetics.
  • Schedule 3 procedures.
  • Working with equipment: X-ray, ultrasound, dental X-ray, laparoscopic surgery.
  • Assisting with bigger surgeries, particularly soft tissue surgeries.
  • Working within a team of about 5-6 nurses, 2 PCAs, 5 client care team, and usually 2-3 vets (rotating).
  • No night duties.
  • No out of hours.
  • Stable inpatients are transferred to another site (no overnight care at this branch).
  • Rota: five days a week usually; some prefer 4 long days, some prefer 5 short days; reasonably flexible.
  • Role suitable for newly qualified nurses as there are experienced team members for support and mentoring.
