Overview

The Team:

The Launceston General Hospital (LGH) provides a level 5 neonatal service and works closely with our maternity services. Women’s and Children’s Services consists of a 6-bed Labour Ward, 27-bed Maternity Unit, 9-bed Level 2 Special Care Nursery that admits neonates >= 32 weeks gestation.

The Role:

The Registered Nurse will:

  • Provide high-quality care to neonates from 32 weeks gestation and above.
  • Work closely with neonates and their families to deliver holistic, family-centred care.
  • Assist in quality improvement initiatives and support the education of undergraduate and postgraduate students.
  • Offer nursing advice to inpatient units as needed.

Details of appointment

Fixed term, part time, shift worker position, working up to 32 hours per fortnight, commencing from 15 February 2026 until 15 February 2027.

Salary and allowances

Salary: $80,524 to $109,175 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
  • Access to the Grade 4 salary range $102,439 - $109,175 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4

Additionally, allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type

Salary Packaging:

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
