Position

We are seeking enthusiastic Paediatric Nurse's to join our dedicated multi-disciplinary team on Kingfisher Ward.

Overview

Come and join the multi-disciplinary team caring for babies, children and young people from 0-17 years with a range of conditions including medical, surgical, ENT, psychological and orthopaedic.

Responsibilities
  • Work across a variety of the departments within Paediatrics including our Paediatric Assessment Unit (PAU) and inpatient ward.
  • Be given opportunities to work in our Paediatric Day Surgery Unit, Emergency Department and work with the Critical care team supporting critically unwell children on the Critical Care Unit.
  • Work with the existing teams to provide a child friendly service, support families and contribute to high standards of child centred care.
  • Have opportunities to develop and gain additional skills.
  • Provide high standards of care to patients and their families.
  • Work as a skilled member of the nursing team, to provide a high standard of holistic family centred care to the children and families.
  • Provide assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care for patients, ensuring that accurate records are maintained.
  • Ability to promote family centred care and establish good relationships with Children & Young People and their families.
  • To communicate effectively at all levels within the multi-disciplinary team.

Our Paediatric multidisciplinary team are friendly and supportive and all different services within Paediatrics work closely together to provide high standards of safe and effective care to the Children & Young people that are treated at Dorset County Hospital.
