Job summary

A leading utility engineering contractor in the UK seeks a SHEQ Advisor to support health, safety, environment, and quality management. You will be responsible for monitoring SHEQ performance, providing support, and promoting best practices. Ideal candidates will possess a NEBOSH Certificate and strong communication skills, along with a professional approach to stakeholder engagement. A Full UK Driving Licence is required, and some travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and application of SHEQ management principles and best practice within a utilities service / construction operational arena.
• NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent mandatory; Associate / Tech / Grad Member of IOSH and IEMA desirable.
• Must have a Full UK Driving Licence and be willing to travel.

Responsibilities

• Provide SHEQ support and advice for the operating region.
• Monitor SHEQ performance at a Regional / Project level.
• Report on good performance as well as deficiencies.
• Support development and implementation of improvement actions.
• Investigate incidents and share lessons learnt.

The SHEQ Advisor within the Regional SHEQ Team will have responsibility for supporting effective SHEQ delivery within the region supported. Supporting the operational management in their endeavours to keep our people, assets, and the environment safe from harm.

The Regional Sheq Advisor responsibilities include:

• SHEQ support and advice for the Operating region
• Monitoring SHEQ performance at a Regional / Project level
• Reporting to operational management on good performance / best practice as well as deficiencies and areas of weakness identified.
• Provision of key support with regards to the development and implementation of improvement actions, initiatives and plans.
• Reinforcing positive and challenging negative behaviours against our Mindset principals when observed
• Incident investigation and the sharing of lessons learnt.

Experience you need to be considered?

• Knowledge and application of SHEQ management principles and best practice within an utilities service / construction operational arena
• NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent as a minimum, Associate / Tech / Grad Member of IOSH and IEMA desirable.
• IT Skills – capable use of Microsoft Office software suit (word, excel etc.) and ability to interact with company systems
• Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel
