The Commercial Data Platforms team at BBC Studios creates and manages data systems and tools. They collect data from different sources store it and then combine it to build dashboards and products that help the business make smart decisions.

These unlock better data-driven experiences for our customers and audiences as well as helping to grow and optimise commercial revenue and harness the power of AI. We are looking for an enthusiastic project manager apprentice to join our exciting team.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT

As a Project Manager Apprentice with the BBC Studios team youll work with experienced professionals and contribute to impactful projects.

As part of your daily activities you may :

• Learn the ropes of project management by supporting real data platform projects from planning to delivery while being mentored by experienced PMs.
• Help keep things on track by updating timelines tracking progress and making sure everyone knows whats happening and when.
• Work with cool tech teams building data tools that power decision-making across the company. Youll get to see how data turns into action!
• Organise and support meetings (dont worry well show you how!) - take notes follow up on actions and help keep communication flowing.
• Grow your skills fast in a friendly supportive environment where curiosity is encouraged and no question is too small.

Youll study for your industry recognised apprenticeship qualification learning both on the job at the BBC and off the job with our chosen education provider. The academic study involves attending instructor-led workshops tutorial sessions practical and library-based research presentations group work and real-world simulated projects.

The apprenticeship programme is structured across 3 learning levels :

• Level 4 : Covers Business Environment Stakeholder Management and Project Planning & Control
• Level 5 : Focuses on Project Management Professionalism and Professional Development
• Level 6 : Includes Programme & Portfolio Management Project Leadership & Governance and Change & Risk Management

The programme concludes with an integrated End Point Assessment (EPA) .

During your apprenticeship youll work towards a BSc (Hons) Level 6 degree in Project Management alongside earning the APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) - a respected industry certification. Upon successful completion youll be eligible to apply for full membership with the Association for Project Management (APM). This qualification opens doors to roles such as Project Coordinator Business Assistant or Business Coordinator both within the BBC and across other organisations

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

To be eligible for an apprenticeship at the BBC you must :

• Be 18 years old or over by the time the apprenticeship begins in September 2026
• Have lived in the UK continuously for the last 3 years prior to the start of the apprenticeship
• Be legally eligible to work full-time in the UK for the entire duration of the apprenticeship
• Not currently be enrolled in another apprenticeship programme whether with the BBC or another organisation
• Not have completed or hold qualifications in the apprenticeship subject at the same or higher level

To apply for this scheme you must also :

• Have or expect to have Maths and English GCSEs or National 5 (Scotland) at 9-4 (A-C) or an equivalent qualification
• Have or expect to have a Level 3 qualification(s) that equate to 96 UCAS points. This could be :
• o A Levels 3 x Cs or above in any subject
• o An Advanced apprenticeship BTEC or NVQ will also be considered but must equate to 96 UCAS points. - UCAS points vary so please check your qualification here.
• For candidates under the age of 19 years at 8th September 2026 : To complete the apprenticeship you must have achieved Maths and English GCSE at Grade 4 / C or above or National 5 (Scotland) at C or Functional Skills Level 2 or equivalent qualification. If you have not achieved these qualifications by the start of your apprenticeship you will be required to achieve Functional Skills Level 2 before the end of your apprenticeship when you take your end-point assessment.
