Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a Process/Production Operative for a permanent position on the outskirts of Newark. The position requires the ability to work 12-hour shifts, on a 4 on 4 off basis. Transport is necessary due to the location.

Job Opportunity: Process/Production Operative
Location: Outskirts of Newark
This is a permanent role, must have own transport due to the location.
Shifts are 4 on 4 off 6am to 6pm and 6pm to 6am. Salary £14.46ph

About the Role

Are you hands-on, driven, and ready to play a vital role, we’re looking for a Process/Production Operative. working with cutting-edge machinery and contributing to the safe and efficient production of animal food products.

Your Purpose

As a Process Operative, you\'ll be responsible for running key production processes – from milling and extrusion to drying and coating – ensuring that everything we produce meets the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.

Your Main Responsibilities
  • Operate milling equipment: load bulk materials (via FLT) and hand-added ingredients, completing technical checks and logs
  • Run the extrusion, drying, coating, and cooling processes, maintaining accurate records and product quality
  • Handle and manage waste for rework efficiently
  • Maintain cleanliness with a clean-as-you-go approach, supporting wider site cleaning as required
What We're Looking For
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment (ideally food, pet food, or FMCG)
  • Food Safety Level 2 qualification
  • Awareness of BRC standards and IOSH Working Safely practices
  • A proactive attitude with a solutions-focused mindset
  • A strong team player who’s open to learning and continuous improvement
  • Honest, reliable, and able to maintain perspective under pressure
