Job summary

An education recruitment agency is looking for a Primary Tutor in Blackburn to provide tailored one-to-one support in Maths and English. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of teaching experience, preferably with primary-level learners, and the ability to adapt teaching methods. A calm and confident tutor with the right to work in the UK and an Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain) is preferred. This role offers flexible hours and the chance to make a significant impact on students' learning.

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver one-to-one or small group lessons in Maths and English, tailored to primary-level learning needs.

• Establish a trusting and consistent rapport to create a safe, supportive learning environment.
• Monitor progress and provide clear, constructive feedback to parents/carers or professionals as required.

Essential Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience teaching or tutoring Maths or English at primary level.
• Experience working with learners in a 1:1 or small group setting.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Must hold, or be willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS check.

Desirable Qualifications

• PGCE in Primary Education and/or Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience supporting students with additional learning needs.
