A reputable recruitment agency is seeking a Primary Academic Coach for a ‘Good’ primary school in Yardley, Birmingham. The role involves delivering targeted support to Year 6 students to enhance their SAT outcomes through 1:1 and small group sessions. Ideal candidates will have a degree, clear communication skills, and a genuine interest in working with children. This is a full-time position starting immediately until July 2026, with a daily pay of £82 - £101.

Qualifications

  • Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.
  • Genuine interest in KS2 and pupil progress.
  • Experience working with children is desirable but not essential.

The Role:
Work with the Year 6 team to run short, focused booster sessions in reading, writing and maths. Provide 1:1 and small-group support, reinforce exam technique and timed practice, and help pupils build confidence with tricky topics. Prepare simple resources, track impact, and share clear next steps with class teachers.

The Candidate:
You’re a graduate who communicates clearly and keeps sessions purposeful. You can explain concepts in simple steps, motivate pupils, and follow guidance while using your initiative to keep learners on track.

Requirements
• Degree – A 2:2 or above in any subject.
• Communication – Clear and confident verbal and written communication.
• Enhanced DBS – Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.
• Desire to work in education/with children – Genuine interest in KS2 and pupil progress.
• Experience working with children – Any relevant experience (tutoring, mentoring, volunteering) is desirable but not essential.
