A friendly healthcare practice in Hednesford is seeking a qualified practice nurse to join their team. The role involves delivering nursing services, managing chronic diseases, and supporting infection control. Candidates must have a General Practice Nurse qualification and current UK registration. This is a vital position within a multidisciplinary team dedicated to promoting patient health and well-being.
Dr Manickam & Partners is a relatively small (circa 4000 patients) but very friendly practice based within the Hednesford Valley Health Centre.
To be responsible for thedelivery of practice nursing services, working as part of the practicemultidisciplinary team, delivering care within their scope of practice to theentitled patient population. The practice nurse will be responsible for anumber of clinical areas such as infection prevention and control, healthpromotion, health prevention, quality, as well assupporting the management team in the reviewing of clinical policy andprocedure.
The post-holder will havethe required level of training and competence and will work within patientgroup directions where these are available.

A name badge and uniform must be wornat all times, which will be supplied by the Practice.

We have 3 GP partners and are a training practice. We employ a Practice Manager and 6 administrative staff and 3 nursing staff.
The following are the core responsibilities of the practice nurse to carry out competently
without direct supervision following practice protocols,
Childhood immunisations
Cervical cytology
ECG
Health promotion
Chronic disease management including Diabetes care
Contraception and sexual health advice
Weight Management
Provision of simple wound care and removal of sutures
Chaperoning other clinicians when required
Assess, plan, develop, implement and evaluate treatment programs that promote health and well-being
Proactively identify, diagnose and manage treatment plans for patients at risk of developing a long-term condition
Work with other health care professionals to diagnose, monitor, manage and treat long-term condition
Work with patients in order to support adherence to prescribed treatments
Support patients to adopt health promotion strategies that promote them to live healthily, and apply principles of self-care
Implement and participate in vaccination and immunisation programmes for both adults and children.
Carry out new patient checks
Lead on infection control measures within the Practice, and educate colleagues in adopting sound infection control measures
Maintaining GP and Nurses rooms, stocking and rotating items as required
Maintaining the cold chain and fridge temperatures
Undertake housekeeping duties including, general tidiness and cleanliness of nurses room
Ordering of Health Promotion Literature
Ordering of stock
Participation in administrative systems in the Practice
Attend and participate in any Practice Meetings when required
Undertake home visits as required eg for vaccinations
Any other delegated duties appropriate to the post.
