About the role

The successful candidate will have a caseload of planning applications and will be expected to process them to determination. The officer will have to attend site and assess the planning merits of the applications for each site and progress the application, dealing with other officers within PCC, and also other agents and members of the public. The officer will have to write reports for each application as appropriate.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • ICT literate.
  • Ability to plan and schedule work to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to organise own workload.
  • Possess a full driving licence and have the ability to travel around the County.
What you will do
  • To process development management planning applications.
  • Plan and prepare reports and to sometimes present them to the Planning, Taxi Licensing and Rights of Way Committee.
  • To process planning appeals processed under the written-representation’s procedure.
  • To undertake when appropriate, EIA screening opinions on behalf of the authority.
