Job Title: Personal assistant Job Reference: PER9073/AC Location: Haverfordwest Area Hourly Rate: £12.60 Hours Offered: 25 hours per week Work Pattern: Monday

Reporting to: The Direct Payments Recipient (the Direct Payments Recipient is the employer and holds all responsibilities associated with this role).

Introduction: Are you a fun, outgoing person who would enjoy exploring new activities and places of interest within Pembrokeshire? Would you like to spend time swimming, going to the cinema or out for food or a drink? If you would like the opportunity to make a difference in somebody’s life and give this young man a chance to create special memories in a safe environment, then you have found the right job. As part of your role, you will support this young man to develop his interests, access activities and improve his confidence and to continue developing on a personal level. You will use excellent communication skills to build a good rapport with this young man, reduce his anxiety and encourage him to expand his range of activities.

Responsibilities
  • Provide companionship through good interaction.
  • Explore this young man’s interests and learn what he likes and dislikes.
  • Support him to develop those interests.
  • Encourage participation in activities such as swimming, bowling, cinema, outings and outdoor time.
  • Provide support and encouragement when out and about in the community to enable participation in new, fun and interesting activities to improve confidence, abilities and satisfaction.
  • Give consistent one‑to‑one support and adapt to meet all of his emotional needs, enabling personal development.
  • Ensure food intake is monitored when required and prepare meals and light snacks when needed.
  • Ensure the young man is safe at all times with constant supervision; knowledge of hazards is limited.
  • Carry out any other reasonable tasks requested by the employer.
