An educational institution in Bournemouth seeks an Administrative Support for the Performing Arts. Hours: up to 27.5 hours per week, term time only

Salary: c£15,750pa

Main Purpose

To provide mainly administrative support for teaching staff in the Performing Arts including: dance, music and drama. To ensure that the highest quality teaching and learning takes place across Key Stages 3, 4 & 5, and to assist students to learn effectively in relevant activities in line with the Academys policies and procedures.

A great deal of this work will be developing performance and exhibition outcomes and, as such, you should have a passion for the Performing Arts, be highly creative, with the skills and ability to turn a vision into a reality. You will have responsibility for the care and maintenance of tools, equipment and resources within the subject area and for helping to maintain an excellent learning environment.

There will be some working at heights required particularly when setting up staging, lighting and sound equipment for school productions.

You Will Also
  • Design, develop, build and dress sets ready for performances
  • Create promotional materials for events
  • Assist the music/drama department with peripatetic teacher timetables
  • Undertake routine work for the Performing Arts areas, including monitoring and maintaining stock, equipment and resources

Hours up to 27.5 per week, Monday to Friday. This is a term time only post (38 weeks per year). There will be some late evenings so it is essential that you can drive or have access to public transport.

This role is subject to enhanced DBS checks.

Previous experience of working with children is an advantage.
