People Advisor

Weldmar Salary Scale: £30,313 FTE

37.5 hours Monday to Friday

A fantastic opportunity for a People Professional to join a truly collaborative team where what we do makes a real difference.

Based in Dorchester and using your expert knowledge and excellent interpersonal skills, you will provide focused and professional first line People Services Advice on people policies and procedures.

Main duties and responsibilities

You will lead on delivering end-to-end recruitment for Weldmar across a broad range of roles, including Doctors, Nurses, Chefs, Gardeners, Retail, Wellbeing and Support. Working with Leaders and supported by People Partners and Associates, you will use your understanding of recruitment methods to create and refine effective attraction, assessment and selection approaches and prioritise an excellent candidate journey. You will also be responsible for creating offer letters, contracts and change letters.

If you are a team player and have the ability to work supportively with colleagues and maintain confidentiality at all times, as well as working autonomously to manage your own workload, we would love to hear from you.

You will have a high level of administration skills including various HR / Recruitment Systems with working knowledge of end to end recruitment and relevant legislation. Ideally you would also possess a CIPD qualification in HR or equivalent knowledge gained through experience.

An Basic Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check is required.

About Weldmar Hospicecare

Weldmar Hospicecare provides specialist care to adults in Dorset with a life-limiting illness, and support to their loved ones. Care is provided in patients’ homes, in the community, and at our Inpatient Unit in Dorchester. All care is provided free of charge and funded by the local community through fundraising, our retail chain, and gifts left in wills.

Job Title: People Services Advisor Attraction & Advice

Job Purpose

Work in collaboration with the People Services Team, to support the provision of a professional and efficient People Services provision in line with legislation and Weldmar’s strategic plans and operational priorities. The main focus for this role will be around recruitment and first line advisory on HR Policy and procedure.

Understanding that our people are our most valuable resource and integral to the success of Weldmar’s Strategy, you will deliver end-to-end recruitment and work with stakeholders to create effective attraction, assessment and selection approaches and an excellent candidate journey.

Scope and authority

Reporting to the People Services Business Partner, you will support the People Services function in the coordination and delivery of a professional recruitment and advisory service.

Responsibilities:

  • Be a super user of Weldmar's HRIS
  • Creation of Contracts and Amendments to Terms and Condition documentation
  • Provide first line advice on People Policies and Procedures, escalating to Business Partners or Head of People Services where appropriate
Job tasks – Recruitment
  • Attract the right applicants with the right skills at the right time to support the charity’s strategy
  • Proactively engage with managers and People Services Business Partners to determine recruitment needs
  • Review job adverts to ensure compliance with employment legislation and Weldmar guidelines
  • Ensure an excellent end-to-end candidate experience, including onboarding, supported by technology
  • Maximise the potential of digital recruitment and back-office solutions
  • Develop resourcing plans with People Business Partners and translate into schedules
  • Understand labour market trends and recruitment approaches relevant to Weldmar
  • Support employment branding initiatives and outreach activities
  • Attend recruitment fairs, assessment centres and events
  • Build partnerships with schools, colleges, universities and other organisations
  • Develop metrics to measure recruitment success and intervene as needed
Advisory and data management
  • Provide focused first line People Services advice on policies and procedures, recruitment, onboarding, sickness absence, and contract changes

  • Lead delegated projects with agreed reporting timelines
