A leading healthcare provider in the UK seeks a skilled nurse to join their paediatric plastic surgery service. The role includes coordinating nursing care, providing training, and managing post-operative care for children. Successful candidates will have a nursing qualification and the ability to work collaboratively in a team. This is an exciting opportunity to join the East of England Cleft Lip and Palate service. We provide nursing care and support to families in the antenatal period through to adulthood for those born with a cleft. This role also incorporates the paediatric plastic surgery service at CUH which will include children admitted through the regional trauma service and its elective plastic surgical cases.
Working alongside the Clinical Nurse specialists you will be responsible for assisting in the provision and coordination of an effective, comprehensive and integrated service. Provision of specialist education and training for families and carers and other staff and students will be a principle role. You will liaise with all relevant agencies within and outside the Trust to enhance the delivery of care to children, young people and families under the care of the paediatric plastic/cleft team, providing guidance, support and advice. You will play a key role in the provision of a paediatric dressing clinic, where you will be responsible for assessing and managing surgical wounds following trauma, plastics and cleft surgery. You will ideally have additional skills in complex discharge planning, post operative nursing care and the high dependency infant and/or child in order to further develop your role within the clinical nurse specialist team.
