Overview

NPD Assistant / Food Innovation New Product Development Coordinator who is highly organised with excellent time-management and administrative skills is required for a well-established sourcing and food processing company that focuses on sustainable practices and supplies a number of major supermarkets in the UK.

SALARY: £12.21 per Hour
LOCATION: Hull, East Yorkshire
JOB TYPE: Part-Time, Permanent
WORKING HOURS: 9:30am – 3:00pm, 4 Days per Week

Job Overview

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an NPD Assistant / Food Innovation New Product Development Coordinator who is highly organised with excellent time-management and administrative skills. Working as the NPD Assistant / Food Innovation New Product Development Coordinator you will play an integral part in bringing new food products from concept through to launch. You will gain hands-on experience across the full product development cycle, from initial tastings and sample preparation through to factory trials and product validation.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a practical, fast-paced environment, where no two days are the same. You will be involved in a mix of office-based tasks and hands-on kitchen and factory work, ensuring that projects run smoothly and efficiently. Attention to detail and organisation are key, as the NPD Assistant / Food Innovation New Product Development Coordinator will be managing samples, maintaining stock levels, and ensuring the kitchen facilities meet high standards of cleanliness and compliance.

Duties
  • NPD Support: Assist with taste panels, sample preparation, and the organisation of couriers
  • Factory Trials & Launches: Contribute to pre-productions, trials, and the successful launch of new products
  • Stock Management: Oversee sample ordering, PPE replenishment, and ingredient supplies
  • Product Testing: Conduct cooking validations, organoleptic testing, and freeze testing to ensure product quality
  • Hygiene & Safety: Uphold high standards of cleanliness through routine housekeeping, fridge temperature monitoring, and equipment cleaning
  • Relationship Building: Maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, suppliers, and customers
  • Administrative Support: Use Microsoft Office applications to complete tasks efficiently and accurately
Candidate Requirements
  • Previous factory or food manufacturing experience (essential)
