Overview

James Ray Recruitment are seeking an outstanding music teacher to join a Sefton based secondary school. The music department within the school is a dynamic and exciting place, buzzing with musical activity across any given week. Students can participate in ensembles such as wind band, orchestra, choir, steel pans, jazz band and guitar ensemble, working towards regular concerts across the year. The school delivers GCSE music and A level music at key stages 3, 4 and 5. The successful candidate would be able to teach across the three key stages, including sharing an A level class. The candidate would have the opportunity to run an ensemble and would be encouraged to include their particular skills, experiences and passions in repertoire decisions, both in extra-curricular and classroom practice.

Responsibilities
  • Teach Music across Key Stage 3, 4 and Key Stage 5, including sharing an A level class.
  • Run an ensemble and contribute to repertoire decisions in both extra-curricular and classroom practice.
  • Plan, evaluate and adjust lessons, schemes of work as appropriate.
Qualifications
  • Hold QTS and can deliver good levels of behaviour management.
  • Experience teaching Music in Key Stage 3, 4 & Key Stage 5.
  • Hold a PGCE and qualified teacher status (QTS) or be working towards the latter.
  • Have a genuine desire to become part of The Creative Arts Department.
