Job description
Overview

Manchester Royal Infirmary is looking for enthusiastic radiographers to work in MR scanning. You should have proven basic MRI imaging skills and the ability to work fixed days in 13 hour shifts.

Opportunity

If you have a proven aptitude for MRI and would like the opportunity to expand your clinical scanning skills, we can offer exposure to high level, complex scanning techniques. Training will be provided in advanced aspects of MR scanning. Successful applicants will form part of the MR scanning team and will be expected to work closely with colleagues in a busy and challenging environment.

Equipment and Examinations

We use a Siemens Aera 1.5T wide bore scanner and Siemens Viato 1.5T Mobile MR scanner. We also run lists on the University of Manchester's 3T GE PETMR scanner. We undertake a wide range of examinations, including vascular, gynaecological, GU, gastro, neurological and muscular skeletal. We have recently introduced a MR Cardiac service and look forward to providing necessary training in the area if needed. Training will be given for more complex or department specific scans. You will also gain experience in scanning patients with Pacemakers and Cochlear Implants.
