Mobile Cook - Renfrew

Permanent, 33-hours per week

Salary: FTE salary £21,775 (Probation rate). FTE salary £22,864 (upon completion of successful probation)

Role

Hanover are recruiting for a friendly and positive individual to join our team as a Mobile Cook. This is a permanent post with contractual hours of 33-hours per week, working 8-hours per day over 4-days this will include working 2 out of 3 weekends, on a rota basis. No nightwork is required as part of this role and each of our developments are close to local transport links. The role shall support both our Orchard Court (Renfrew) and Montgomery Court (Paisley) Very Sheltered developments. Both developments have over 15 residents who enjoy socialising and having meals together.

As a result, you will manage stock and order goods with an emphasis on good, local produce to ensure the wellbeing of our customers as well as providing a wide and varied menu choice to support positive outcomes. You will be delivering a high-quality service, preparing healthy and nutritional meals as well as treats like cakes and bakes for customers. The successful candidate must be confident in maintaining environmental health regulations within our kitchens and maintaining cleanliness in this area. In addition, you should also have some knowledge on special diets such as diabetic, allergen free and soft diets.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare healthy and nutritious meals and treats for residents.
  • Manage stock, order goods, and emphasize the use of good, local produce.
  • Deliver a high-quality service and provide a varied menu to support positive outcomes.
  • Maintain environmental health and kitchen cleanliness in line with regulations.
  • Support residents with meals and dietary needs, including awareness of special diets (diabetic, allergen-free, soft diets).
Qualifications
  • A genuine passion for helping people.
  • Good teamwork skills.
  • Ability to cook healthy and nutritional meals.
  • Flexible approach to work and respect for the rights of vulnerable adults.
  • Professional conduct when working with colleagues and vulnerable customers.
  • Basic IT skills.
  • Knowledge of Cook Safe and HACCP food safety regulations.
  • Full and satisfactory Disclosure check with Hanover Scotland prior to joining.
Additional desirable qualifications
  • Understanding of Health & Safety and Food Safety regulations.
  • Food hygiene and/or catering qualification.
  • Experience in a similar role.
