A prominent teaching hospital in the UK is seeking a Medical Examiner Officer (MEO) to provide essential support to medical examiners and serve as a point of contact for bereaved families and healthcare professionals. The MEO will act as an intermediary, ensure proper oversight in the death certification process, and assist in establishing the circumstances surrounding individual patient deaths. The purpose of the Medical Examiner Officer (MEO) role is to support Medical Examiners in their role in scrutinising the circumstances and causes of death, and to be a point of contact and source of advice for relatives of deceased patients, healthcare professionals and coroner and registration services.
