Quality / Mechanical & Composite Inspectors (F1 Team)

FTC & LTD Contract Roles Available

Position: Quality Mechanical or Composite Inspector

Location: Motorsport Valley - onsite at a leading Formula One engineering facility

Shifts Available: Days, late shifts, nights, and weekends

Role Overview

Our client, a world-class Formula One organisation, is seeking multiple experienced Quality Mechanical or Composite Inspectors to support the inspection of precision‑engineered components. This role involves first‑off, in‑process, and final inspection of machined and composite parts, ensuring all work meets strict F1‑grade tolerances and specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up, operate and (ideally) program CMM machines using PC‑DMIS - Will consider Inspectors without programming experience
  • Carry out detailed dimensional inspection using manual metrology tools (micrometers, verniers, height gauges), absolute arms, and laser‑based systems
  • Interpret complex engineering drawings and apply GD&T to verify components against spec
  • Inspect metallic and composite components, assemblies and structural parts
  • Produce accurate inspection reports, NCRs and quality documentation in line with client processes
  • Shifts available across days, lates, nights and weekend shifts to support production demand
Required Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience as a Quality Inspector, Mechanical Inspector or CMM Inspector in high‑precision sectors (motorsport, aerospace, automotive etc.)
  • Strong working knowledge of PC‑DMIS, CMM operation and dimensional inspection (Ideal candidate)
  • Proficiency with manual inspection tools and composite/mechanical inspection techniques
  • Confident reading technical drawings, CAD output and applying GD&T
  • Experience inspecting both metallic and composite components
  • Highly detail‑focused, organised, and able to work to tight tolerances and deadlines
Desirable Skills
  • Experience within an F1 or high‑performance motorsport environment
  • Inspection of mixed‑material assemblies (carbon fibre, aluminium, titanium etc.)
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and digital reporting tools
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments
