Qualifications

  • Self-disciplined and able to work with minimal supervision.

  • Interface with the production management system.

  • Inspect work following critical characteristics.
  • Ensure adherence to health & safety policies.
  • Assist in training others in equipment use.

Job description

Job Description Summary Become part of a winning team and help to deliver the Green Energy transition. Based in GE Stafford, within the SMT room, the role of the PCBA Prototype store assistant is to assist the prototype facility with managing all component inventory control related activities, set up assembly kits from bill of materials ready for technicians to set up, assist when required with the prototype production and providing feedback on stock requirements. Working to specifications and instructions, using the correct tools, methods, and equipment. Meeting exacting standards expected by the customer. Applicants must be able to work 2 shift rotations (AM/PM shifts) - when required.

Responsibilities
  • Interface with the production management system.
  • Operate equipment/machinery according to prescribed procedures and in a safe manner.
  • Follow the prescribed production and quality procedures.
  • Carry out work in the correct order and complete maintenance within the stated period.
  • Report any concerns to the Shift Supervisor.
  • Inspect work in accordance with the critical characteristics.
  • Be fully conversant with IPC and able to work to relevant quality standards.
  • Maintain the housekeeping of the work area to the desired level.
  • Maintain time and attendance to company standards.
  • Observe Health and Safety regulations as laid down in company procedures.
  • Carry out any other reasonable tasks requested from time to time.
  • Demonstrate a high level of initiative and the ability to work independently.
  • Good numeracy capability.
  • Good computer literacy, including the use of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word).
  • Ability to train others in the use of equipment and processes in the prototyping facility.
  • Ability to interpret manufacturing instructions and bill of materials.
  • Ability to interpret electronic component codifications and specifications to confirm correct application.
  • Ability to operate equipment and software packages for components storage and inventory.
  • Ensure that the Company's quality, environment, health & safety policies are adhered to.
  • Take reasonable care of your own safety, your colleagues’ safety, and the environment. Comply with GE Health and Safety Policy and Environment Policy.
Experience and Qualifications
  • Good timekeeping and attendance.
  • Able to work 2 shift rotations - when required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced high technology production environment.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team and assist in the smooth running of the department to meet required output.
  • Excellent workmanship and attention to detail.
  • Self-disciplined and able to work with the minimum of supervision.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Previous experience in electronic manufacturing or manufacturing environment (preferred but not essential as full training is given).
