Job Role: Manufacturing Operator - Nights

Location: Norwich

Type: Temp to Perm, full-time hours

Hours: Continuous night shift

Starting pay rate: £13.28 per hour + overtime after 40 hours per week

Technique Recruitment Solutions are a specialist Engineering & Manufacturing recruitment company. Our client is a long-established worldwide manufacturing company based in Norwich. We are seeking several full-time ongoing temporary-to-permanent Process Operators for night shift, ideally from a manufacturing background.

Responsibilities
  • General production and manufacturing duties within a busy non-food manufacturing area, including working around production machines safely and in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure machines operate correctly and achieve optimum quality and output.
  • Manual tasks including packing products, labeling, and palletising in line with SOPs for specific lines and products.
  • Carry out quality checks with hourly product inspection, quarantining and back-checking components, and complete associated documentation. If quality is poor, restart production to required standards.
  • Run machinery and attend to remedial line stoppages, minimising downtime during the shift.
  • Safely start and stop auxiliary assembly equipment when required.
  • Collect materials and continuously fill hoppers throughout the shift as required.
  • Empty waste bins, recycling, and weigh scrap material.
  • Maintain general housekeeping and ensure the work area is clean and tidy.
  • Perform any other duties as required by the Team Leader within the scope of the role and department.

Check product quality to ensure it meets specification and determine when to escalate concerns or scrap products. Verify correct materials and components are used as detailed.

The jobholder is responsible for operating machinery, equipment and materials to produce a good standard of quality product.

Additional Role Information

The role is based in a non-food manufacturing environment. Standard PPE is required (safety shoes, garments, hairnet, and hearing protection) to be worn daily. After training, the job holder may occasionally work alone as part of the role.
