Overview

This rapidly growing business operates in a specialist field deploying their products and services to both commercial and domestic customers. Led by a team of industry experts and operating through distinctive divisions they provide a holistic offering to ensure their clients receive expert service and value for money. Having recently brought on a Finance Director the business is now gearing up for expansion which will involve opening new sites in the future and bringing some of their currently outsourced accountancy support in-house. In order to accommodate this they would now like to recruit a Management Accountant to join the business, in a support role to the FD and overseeing a small team. This role will make an excellent development opportunity for someone looking to benefit from mentorship and the chance to enjoy a varied role in an SME finance function.

Responsibilities
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Supporting production of month end board reports
  • Reporting for main trading company and divisions
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Preparing cashflow forecasts
  • Developing KPIs and analysis
  • Assisting / owning the year end accounts prep
  • Producing VAT returns and dealing with HMRC
  • Overseeing sales and purchase ledger
  • Supporting implementation of XERO
  • Becoming a trusted business partner to non-financial managers; using industry specific reporting software and maintaining confidence with IT systems
  • Participating in growth and improvement projects to continuously improve processes and controls
Qualifications & Experience
  • Ideal candidate would be a strong Assistant Management Accountant seeking more ownership, or a more experienced individual seeking a new challenge in a growing business
  • Applications from AAT qualified or early/part qual CIMA/ACCA candidates would be welcomed but not essential
  • Confidence with accounting software and reporting software
  • Experience of becoming a trusted business partner to non-financial managers
Working Arrangements

The position will be office based with some flexibility to work from home to be discussed once up and running.

There will be opportunities to participate in a number of growth and improvement projects as part of the role.
