Job summary

A leading dairy cooperative in Leeds is seeking a Health, Safety & Quality operator to manage the safe operation of filling/labelling machinery. The candidate should have FMCG experience and a Food Hygiene certificate. • Daily operation of container filling/labelling machinery safely and efficiently.
• Report and/or correct safety issues.
• Perform quality inspections on materials and finished product.
• Responsible for product/package/code changes.
• Perform filling/labelling operator CIP duties.
• Monitor equipment and process performance.

Skills

Good communicator with ability to understand instructions

Previous experience in an FMCG or related company

Food hygiene certificate

Experience of SAP process order management

Understanding of automated data collection systems i.e SCADA, OEE, SPC

Education

NVQ level 2 or equivalent

Key Responsibilities

• Daily operation of container filling/labelling machinery safely and efficiently to produce top quality products.
• Report and/or correct safety issues. Maintain proper safety conditions of equipment and surroundings.
• Perform quality inspections on materials and finished product. Quality checks to include, codes, seals and weights.
• Responsible for proper and accurate product/package/code changes.
• Perform all filling/labelling operator CIP duties and surface foaming with mechanical cleaning for all other areas in accordance with specified cleaning schedules.
• Perform simple preventative maintenance, i.e clean, inspect, lubricate and tighten.
• Monitor equipment and process performance and correct /raise issues before they become problem.

Attributes/Experience

• Good communicator with ability to understand instructions
• Previous experience in an FMCG or related company.
• Food hygiene certificate.
• NVQ level 2 or equivalent is desirable to demonstrate basic level of vocational learning ability.
• Experience of SAP process order management and automated data collection systems i.e SCADA, OEE, SPC.
