Overview
Our client, a leading distributor of finished products into key retailers, is looking for a Logistics Manager to join their team. The role is responsible for ensuring all logistics activities meet agreed service levels, operate cost-effectively, and deliver reliable, transparent, sustainable and customer-focused fulfilment.
About the role
- Lead and manage relationships with 3PL providers, ensuring compliance with SLAs, alignment with sustainability objectives, and continuous improvement in delivery performance.
- Develop, negotiate, and maintain SLAs with logistics partners and internal stakeholders.
- Monitor, analyse, and report on logistics KPIs, including delivery performance, cost-to-serve, CSR metrics, and stock movements.
- Enhance end-to-end shipping traceability, ensuring accurate and timely tracking information is available to internal teams and customers.
- Conduct network analyses to assess logistics flows, identify optimisation opportunities, and recommend infrastructure improvements.
- Design and implement logistics network and infrastructure enhancements to support business growth, efficiency, and sustainability goals.
- Oversee day-to-day logistics operations, including warehouse performance and shipping lane management.
- Partner with internal teams to ensure logistics solutions meet commercial and customer needs.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using data insights and industry best practices to improve operational performance.
- Manage logistics budgets, including forecasting and cost control activities.
- Ensure compliance with all legal, safety, and environmental regulations governing logistics operations.
- Lead logistics-related projects, including system implementations and process improvements.
About the person
- Demonstrated experience in logistics management, with a focus on 3PL relationship management and operational leadership.
- Strong knowledge of logistics network design, warehouse operations, and shipping lane optimisation.
- Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and drive performance improvements.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Highly organised, with proven capability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments.
- Proficiency in logistics management systems, ERP platforms, and Microsoft Office tools.
- In-depth knowledge of compliance requirements in transportation, warehousing, and international shipping.
- Strategic mindset with a hands-on approach to problem-solving and execution.
