Job description
Overview

The successful candidate will work at Higher Specialty Trainee level and will be actively involved in the management of all patients aged 0-19 years, with a wide variety of solid and CNS tumours, malignant and non-malignant haematological conditions.

Responsibilities
  • Inpatient management, on-treatment and follow-up clinics on the oncology day ward.
  • Managing a twice weekly procedures general anaesthetic session including performing bone marrow aspirates and trephines, and lumbar punctures with the administration of intrathecal chemotherapy.
Collaboration and Liaison

The postholder will liaise with doctors and community nurses based in Oxfordshire and at the shared care units in the Thames Valley Cancer Alliance (TVCA).

He/she will also be expected to develop the skills to prescribe chemotherapy (after appropriate training), attend various multidisciplinary team meetings and organise procedures and investigations for patients.
