Job Description Summary

During a time of continued and exciting growth, at Dowty (a GE Aerospace company) we have an exciting new permanent opportunity for a Lead Product Quality Engineer to join our onsite team at our cutting edge manufacturing site in Brockworth, near Gloucester.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Product Quality Engineer (R&O)
  • Quality ownership for R&O (CAA/EASA Part145) value stream, developing and maintaining operating rhythms with Customer Ops team to meet customer delivery & satisfaction.
  • Examination of customer returned products to identify trends, determine root cause of failure & corrective action.
  • Investigate and liaise with customer on warranty returns / claims.
  • Produce engineering reports on findings and lead any RCCA or business improvement actions required.
  • Feedback and coach customers on in-service maintenance.
  • Conduct internal audits as defined by audit plan and regulatory requirements.
  • Support daily business operating rhythms and provide Quality function guidance to R&O shop teams.
  • Identify quality risk areas and drive continuous improvement activities.
  • Willing to travel domestically and internationally.

Required Experience and Capabilities:

  • Good understanding of mechanical engineering components & assemblies and/or fibre reinforced composite assemblies is essential.
  • Working knowledge of propeller systems.
  • Customer and stakeholder management.
  • Experience in communication tools and business system use.
  • Demonstrable experience in RCCA and structured problem solving is a must for this role.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of AS9100 standards and Part 145 regulations (Part21 understanding also preferable).
  • Demonstrable Experience working in a Part 145 organization.
  • Qualified internal Auditor preferred, not essential.
  • Understanding and application of Lean tools and techniques.
  • Degree educated, recognised apprenticeship or equivalent.
