Age UK North Tyneside is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced dementia nurse to become our Lead Admiral Nurse, guiding and inspiring a specialist service that truly makes a difference.

This is a full‑time role (35 hours per week) based in Newcastle, with the potential for some hybrid working. The salary range is £41,011‑£45,939.

You will be supported by @Dementia UK through regular clinical supervision and continuing professional and practice development to maintain excellent standards and specialist skills in dementia care.

As Lead Admiral Nurse, you will:
  • Provide strategic and clinical leadership, managing a team of Admiral Nurses, Dementia Coordinators, and Coordinating Officers.
  • Drive service development and quality improvement, ensuring evidence‑based dementia care across the locality.
  • Act as a role model and mentor, supporting professional growth and maintaining high standards of practice.
  • Collaborate with local and national partners to shape integrated care pathways and influence best practice.
  • Hold a registered nursing qualification and have significant post‑registration experience in dementia care, including leadership and mentoring. Strong communication, decision‑making, and the ability to inspire others are essential.
